After slowly rolling out a limited number of events following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic (including Pans this week), the IBJJF has now opened registration for both the Pan No-Gi 2020 Championship and the Atlanta Open.
The organization has announced that No-Gi Pans and the Atlanta Open will both take place on November 21-22 at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park, GA. Competitors will be allowed to bring “one coach or companion,” and additional spectators won’t be permitted. The Atlanta Open is gi only, and the IBJJF will allow competitors to sign up for both competitions at a reduced cost. Points will not be required to compete.
No-Gi Pans usually takes place in September, but due to the coronavirus outbreak, the event (like most other IBJJF events this year) was postponed.
Pans competitors who wanted to sign up for the gi event were delighted to learn in August that the IBJJF would be hosting the event in October after it became one of the first major jiu-jitsu tournaments to be affected by the pandemic back in March. Now, no-gi competitors will be able to test themselves at the end of November.
Visit the IBJJF website to sign up or read more information about the events.
