How To Turn Their Kimura Into A Kimura Of Your Own!

In this video I show an important move in both Gi and No Gi, the Reverse Kimura. This is a high percentage move that can really catch some people off guard. It is however important to note that you should never let anyone lock a Kimura grip on you as that is dangerous and missing this defense would leave you in a very bad place.

With that being said, if you use this as a defense, or in conjunction with other defenses, then this can be a fantastic move!

The pressure on this is INTENSE and you should make sure that you drill it out before attempting it in rolling. Each partner’s shoulder flexibility is different and it’s important to note those differences when applying this move because it comes on very quickly and can catch people off guard.

Things to remember include pressure forward into the back of the shoulder. When this move fails it’s typically because the driving pressure wasn’t done correctly. Also make sure that your knees don’t touch the floor and all of your weight is on your partners shoulder.

If you mess this up and fall off the side then the option will be there to take the back (which I’ll show in the next video)

thanks for watching
