In issue 174, now in bookstores, GRACIEMAG drew parallels between Rio de Janeiro and San Diego, cities in two different countries but that have plenty in common, like, for instance, having taken a shine for Jiu-Jitsu. Doing exercise on the beach, lots of places to train, surf, nature… The two places provide similar lifestyle options.
And to round things out, there are also pointers on healthy eating and exercising on the beach.
Rio de Janeiro native Rodrigo Madeiros, a Carlson Gracie black belt, has been living in San Diego for years. Our GMA won’t do without a good session of surfing at Pacific Beach, between classes at BJJ Revolution Team. Nevertheless, training is going full steam.
In the video below, Rodrigo shows a number of tips to perfecting your sweeps when your opponent tries to open guard on his feet.
