ADCC Champion Gordon Ryan is set to face wrestler Pat Downey in a series of grappling matches at the BJJ Fanatics Grand Prix on February 29. According to a post from Ryan, the two men will first face off in a no time limit sub-only match followed by a freestyle wrestling match. Ryan assures his fans that he’ll win both.
Since beating Ryan’s teammate Nick Rodriguez in a wrestling match last October, both Downey and Ryan have hinted at some form of match between the two for months. We got a glimpse at a potential rule set from Ryan’s match against NCAA Champion Bo Nickal in December, but no word was immediately available from the either athlete.
