Gisele Bündchen is a famous Brazilian fashion model – and has been one of the highest-paid supermodels in the world since 2001. However, what a lot of people don’t know about her is that she is also a 2-stripe Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu white belt!
She trains in a more MMA style; not limiting herself just to the ground game, but also throwing elbows, knees, and Judo setups. And that only makes sense, given that she rolls under the Valente Brothers in Florida, which is one of the most traditional schools in the state.
She recently shared a video on her social media, where she demonstrates an Americana, Armbars, and Rear Naked Chokes. Here’s what Bündchen had to say about her love for the Gentle Art:
I believe the more tools we have in our toolbox the better. I feel stronger, more confidence and empowered since I started practicing self-defense. I feel it’s an important skill for all, but specially for us women.
Thank you @ValenteBrothers for being awesome teachers and for making training so much fun. I am looking forward to keep improving. Let’s go!

Gisele Bündchen has been a long-time Yoga practitioner and a surfer as well, so it’s no wonder that BJJ came into the lifestyle she leads already. It will be exciting to see her progress in the upcoming years!
