Polaris 9 is just a month and a half away, and the promotion has just announced one of their. Black belts Gezary Matuda and Ffion Davies will be competing in a no-gi match for the first ever female -55kg title for the event.
Matuda is a multiple-time IBJJF Worlds and Pans champion, and she made history at Polaris by earning the fastest submission time in the promotion’s history. Davies only just earned her black belt in November of last year, but she’s had a strong start, winning No-Gi Worlds the following month and beginning 2019 with a gold medal at Euros.
Davies and Matuda will be joined by Vagner Rocha and Ross Nicholls on the card. Rocha and Nicholls will be competing for the opportunity to challenge Mansher Khera for the Polaris welterweight title.
Polaris 9 will take place on March 15 and will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.
