This is my favorite back take. I learned it from the great Andre Galvao at a seminar of his. At the advanced levels of BJJ, your opponent will not make easy mistakes and expose the back for you. You need to look at catch their back in transitions between positions.
The drill I’m doing in the video is featured in his excellent book “Drill to Win”. When I had the opportunity at a seminar, I asked Andre about the correct movement and he broke it down for me.
The move requires a lot of repetitions to make your movement smooth and develop the correct spacing. Like Andre says, “Drill! Drill! Drill!”
