Another big name of the gentle art is confirmed for the upcoming Jiu-Jitsu Pan-American. Gabrielle Garcia, the current weight and open weight world champion, will be looking to repeat her usual feat of making it to the top of the podium twice, at the next Pan.
“I was going to save myself for the World Pro, but I kept up with all the news about all the people who are going to compete, and a lot of girls will be there. I couldn’t resist, I was itching to go and ended up signing up yesterday,” she reports.
“I even told Fabio Gurgel: ‘No way I’m saving myself. This is what I do in life, I’m going to fight.’ I want to win at weight and absolute again, I’m ready for war!” she adds.
Alliance’s training camp has already kicked off in Atlanta, but the fighter is still training in São Paulo, where her own training sessions are going off. Now she awaits her faithful companion to rejoin their duo “Pink and Brain,” which has been snapping up all the medals at the big competitions.
“I’ll stick around here, because I also have to work hard to get ready for the ADCC. Luanna has yet to decide, but I’ll be going. We’re going to close out the absolute again!” says Gabi in finishing.
And sign-ups for the Pan, the most traditional international IBJJF event, end this Tuesday. Don’t miss the opportunity. Find out how to participate by clicking here.
