Are you one of those people who can’t finish when you have back control? Do you ever wonder why?
For Coach Tom from The Grappling Academy, the answer is easy: you’re in the wrong state of mind.
What he means is that the person you’re trying to choke is fighting as if his life is at stake; you’re not. You might know all the details of whatever move you’re trying to choke him with, but unless you’re fighting to put it on your opponent with the same intensity he’s fighting to keep it off of him, you’re probably not going to get it.
Matching your opponent’s frame of mind is a huge part of successfully attacking from the back, according to Coach Tom.
What do you think of his advice?
