Fight 2 Win is one of the biggest and most successful grappling promotions on the planet and they’ve just announced that they’ve cancelled all upcoming events in March and April. The news comes after they were forced to abandon Fight 2 Win 138 in Dallas, which was shaping up to be one of the biggest events they had staged to date. This was only one of many, many BJJ promotions that have been adversely effected by the recent Coronavirus pandemic.
It all started in Asia with the cancellation of ADCC Mongolia shortly after the virus first started to spread outside of it’s original country, China. It wasn’t long before the UAEJJF was forced to take action and announce postponement of all future events until further notice and this led to the sport’s leading organisation, the IBJJF, also taking action in cancelling major upcoming tournaments. Thankfully though, it isn’t all doom and gloom for grappling fans as Bernardo Faria led the way in making up for the lack of available training and competition by offering a free instructional to anyone and everyone. He’s also been matched by a number of the sport’s leading figures like John Danaher and Renzo Gracie, who’ve also offered their services free of charge to help encourage competitors to stay at home for the time being.
The latest news of Fight 2 Win having to cancel all of their planned events for the next two months came via the CEO, Seth Daniels who posted the below video on Facebook:
