Fight 2 Win has a bit of a reputation for packing their cards with as much talent as humanly possible, and tomorrow, they’ll once again be demonstrating their knack for bringing the action to the stage.
At F2W 122, Scottsdale, AZ will be treated to a card filled with F2W regulars and a few special newcomers as well.
The evening’s final and most anticipated match will be between Augusto “Tanquinho” Mendes and Marcelo Mafra in a 170-lb black belt no-gi battle. Tanquinho boasts a long list of accomplishments in jiu-jitsu that includes wins at Worlds, No-Gi Worlds, and the World Pro. His last F2W appearance resulted in a loss to Vagner Rocha, but he defeated Jeff Glover via ref decision back at F2W 25. Mafra is an established competitor, especially in the Master 1 division. He won No-Gi Worlds in the adult division, but since then, he’s gone on to earn gold at Pans, World Masters, Brazilian No-Gi Nationals, and the World Pro.
The co-main event will feature a black belt featherweight masters title match between Osvaldo “Queixinho” Moizinho and Tiago Barros. Queixinho is a multiple-time No-Gi World and No-Gi Pans champion, and he’s also proven his strength in the Masters division by winning gold at World Masters twice. Barros also placed first at World Masters last year, and in 2017, he claimed gold at Pans.
Other exciting matches on the card will feature Karen Antunes vs. Tracey Goodell and extremely decorated black belt Claudia do Val vs. American Nationals champ Brenda Heller. Further down in the undercard, we’ll see UFC fighter Sean O’Malley make his Fight 2 Win debut as a purple belt against Princeton Jackson.
