UFC heavyweight fighter Derrick Lewis has shared a video that appears to show a man being arrested after allegedly trying to break into the fighter’s vehicle.
Lewis shared a photo and video from the alleged incident with the caption, “**** pick right/wrong car to break into. HE’S OK.” After focusing on the man being apprehended by the police, the video turns to Lewis’ damaged car door and then to Lewis himself, at which point he says, “Motherf*cker tried to break into my sh*t.”
Lewis also shared a photo of his bruised knuckles to his Instagram story with the caption, “Satisfaction
He’s ok”
According to MMA Fighting, Lewis told the Houston police that he was leaving the gym after a workout when he heard “banging noises” coming from his car. When he approached, he says that he saw a man using a screwdriver to try to break into the vehicle.
Mr. Lewis says he went over to the suspect, struck him, placed him onto the ground until the police arrived. That’s the nicest way to put it,” said a public information officer from the Houston Police Department.
The accused would-be thief was reportedly taken to the hospital for his injuries and is being charged with criminal mischief.
Remember, kids — don’t try to break into anyone’s car, but if you do, definitely make sure it doesn’t belong to a professional fighter.
