UFC 224 is set to take place at Rio de Janeiro’s Jeunesse Arena on the 12th of May. As part of the organization’s efforts to fire up the potential audience, yesterday an open workout was held.
Mackenzie Dern fought fellow BJJ world champion Leozinho Vieira, who leads the Checkmat team. They moved a lot and really did fire up the people present at a shopping mall in the Barra da Tijuca neighborhood. In this video, you can check out the armbars and takedowns on display:
Two-time absolute BJJ world champion Ronaldo Jacaré was also there. Jacaré recently spent some time in the U.S. sharpening his grappling, with a nice hint of wrestling thrown in there — which made his style even more aggressive. Graciemag was present to capture his session with his student Rosil:
