Rubens Charles “Cobrinha” was covert about it. Having just opened a gym in California, the black belt said in a recent GRACIEMAG.com interview that he will be focusing all his attention on his team and perhaps not even compete in 2011.
Nonetheless, the GRACIEMAG team didn’t miss a beat in Abu Dhabi, where the World Pro is underway. Our newsroom chief, Luca Atalla, was surprised to find the Alliance rep in the area. Put up at a separate hotel from the other fighters, the four-time world champion was sweating to lose weight and revealed: “I’m going to fight in the World Pro.”
Cobrinha should meet up with teammate Bruno Malfacine, Augusto Tanquinho, and the troop from Atos (Bruno Frazatto, Ed Ramos, Rafael and Guilherme Mendes) in the under-65kg dispute.
