GMA member Ricardo Cavalcanti had a very special ceremony last June 23rd.
His academy welcomed over 300 people for gradation day.
The professor gave new belts and degrees for 110 athletes.
Cavalcanti talks about a special one: “Robert Lagasca was the first student of mine in America to graduate as a black belt that started in Jiu-Jitsu with me, as a white belt”.
Lagasca’s story has another detail that makes it more touching, as Ricardo tells us: “He started in jiu-Jitsu to change his habits and to be able to donate a kidnay to his mother, that was a cancer patient”.
Besides the new belt, Lagasca was awarded with a diploma and a special ring.
The ceremony also celebrated the 10th anniversary of Carlson Gracie Las Vegas.
Congrats to all!
