If you underestimated the power of calf kicks, Dustin Poirier hopefully set you straight in his dominant fight against Conor McGregor. If you still aren’t convinced that calf kicks are the real deal, this video will surely change your mind.
Randall Rayment, whose is appropriately nicknamed “The Limb Reaper,” faced off against then-undefeated opponent Dean Maxwell in the main event of local Australian MMA promotion Urban Fight Night this past weekend.
The light heavyweight championship fight in Sydney saw Rayment land a low leg kick on Maxwell. All seemed relatively well until Maxwell took a step back and his leg crumpled beneath him. Maxwell fell to the ground in excruciating pain, and the referee called the fight.
The moment has since gone viral, and MMA Junkie has reported that Maxwell broke both his tibia and fibula. He will be unable to walk for three months and required plates and screws to fix the broken limb.
The video is below, but be forewarned that it is GRAPHIC, and you shouldn’t watch it if you don’t want to see someone’s leg bending in a deeply unsettling way.
