Bad news for those looking to see Caio Terra at this weekend’s IBJJF Worlds. The multiple-time World and Pan American gold medalist has been forced out of the competition due to being “severely injured.”
In a quote from Flograppling, Caio said:
“I got severely injured and won’t be able to compete. My ribs popped and I kept training for one month with so much pain, I couldn’t even play half guard. Then Thursday I started feeling pain in my shoulder; I went to the doctor and found out I had torn a muscle. I can’t even lift my arm up.
“I didn’t want to make it a big deal. Our team has so many people who have a good chance and I don’t want to be a distraction. The attention should be on them.”
The 2018 World IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship will be going from May 31 to June 3. The action will be available on Flograppling, but the Jiu-Jitsu Times will also be there, reporting on the matches.
