Anatoly Malykhin dominated and knocked out Reinier de Ridder in December 2022… And he is now a two-division – interim heavyweight and light heavyweight – ONE Championship title holder.
And, well, Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida is looking to earn a fight against Malykhin as soon as possible.
While he complimented Malykhin’s wrestling and boxing skills, Buchecha believes that nobody really put his Jiu-Jitsu skills to the test… Which is exactly what he is planning to do:
He’s good in wrestling and very good boxing. Heavy hands, but we didn’t see his Jiu-Jitsu yet. No one really put his Jiu-Jitsu to the test yet. But it is what it is.
You could be the best in the world. His clock is ticking, I’ll always trust my Jiu-Jitsu 100 percent.
Among other people, ONE Championship’s CEO and Chairman Chatri Sityodtong also believes that Buchecha is destined for the legendary status in MMA:
Mark my words… Buchecha is going to be a legend before all this is said and done in the coming years.
Of course, Buchecha is a good friend of mine, he’s a good buddy, but I’m speaking objectively as a lifelong martial artist.
Observing Buchecha and his growth since he’s joined ONE, his mental strength – he is the whole package and the world is his.
