A recent video showcases Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida as he describes his lowest Jiu-Jitsu moments. In the video, he outright declares, “2011 was my worst year ever”. He mentions that he won perhaps one or two tournaments that entire year and lost the rest of them. It was such a jarring experience that he considered quitting Jiu-Jitsu. At that point in time, he was considering an entirely different career.
Before finalizing that decision, Buchecha realized that he had to return to his roots. He made major adjustments in his training regimen and his overall life. Things started to pick up going into 2012, and now he’s in his prime.
