Bruno Malfacine won a controversial victory over Caio Terra at the 2017 World Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF Championship.
The two were tied up like a ball of yarn throughout most the match. Caio began attacking the legs early, but Malfacine returned in kind. Both fighters stayed neck and neck, earning points via sweeps and taking advantages where they could.
Malfacine’s last two points came with a heavy amount of controversy, though, as the referee ruled that Caio was fleeing out of bounds. The two were tied, but Malfacine won via advantages.
