After the 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal on April 25th, the effects were felt all over the world. There was a tremendous amount of damage and life lost all across the small nation. The local network of fighting schools in Brooklyn, however, made a decision that would help the country on its way to recovery. All of the practitioners are these locations decided to donate as much of their personal aid to the situation as quickly as they could. They knew that unless quick and serious actions were taken, the country would not be able to get back on its feet so well.
News by PRunderground a local Brooklyn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu organization had dedicated itself to helping maintain a supportive environment. This was focused with an immediate emphasis on healthier and safer communities for the people it serves. The Brooklyn BJJ professionals decided to collect donations from all across Brooklyn in order to help Nepal. They worked with Save the Children, which already had a team of four hundred individuals who were active in the country. These organizations focus on providing urgent care for the needs of the children, providing them with things such as shelter, clean water, and food. They also help organize rescue teams to help out people in crisis situations in the country.
After another earthquake hit the country on May 12th, the school’s serious commitment was even more dedicated. They understand how dire the times are and they are focusing on providing everything they can for the country. Even though it may seem as though the martial arts school is a world removed from the disaster zone, they believe that they are doing the right thing to inspire hope in people and relief efforts all over the globe.
