It’s not every day that two elite jiu-jitsu athletes get hitched, but in the midst of all the excitement surrounding the IBJJF World Masters tournament in Las Vegas this week, black belts and longtime partners Luanna Alzuguir and Ana Carolina Vieira made time to get married.
FloGrappling reported that the couple was wed in a civil ceremony attended by just over a dozen people, which included fellow world champions Nathiely de Jesus, Hannette Staack, and Michelle Nicolini.
Alzuguir shared a photo from the special day on her Instagram story:
Alzuguir is an ADCC veteran and five-time world champion. She won the absolute division at Worlds in 2010, for which she was recognized and given a ring on Saturday.
Viera has won both IBJJF Worlds and the UAEJJF World Pro twice as a black belt. FloGrappling reports that her brother, five-time black belt world champion Rodolfo Vieira, walked her down the aisle.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
