A teacher at Action Jiu-Jitsu School in Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Meira today brings our hard-working readers a trick to more easily escape the mount.
The mount does allow for a few escape options, but depending on your opponent, getting out from under it can be a tall order. Meira’s technique, however, contains a wrinkle that makes getting out simpler.
First he uses a hook with the foot to control his opponent’s shin, thus creating space to skewer the leg. Then Meira goes all-in for the leg to restore the half-guard and give himself some relief.
