BJJ Fanatics co-founder and multiple-time IBJJF World, Pans, and Euros champion Bernardo Faria and stuntwoman, actor, and martial artist Rayra Gracie (of the famous Gracie family) have officially become US citizens.
The married couple posed for a photo to commemorate the occasion, proudly waving US flags and displaying their citizenship certificates. Faria shared the moment on social media with his followers:
“Today was a very special day for my wife Rayra @rayragracie and I, as we both became citizens of the United States. I would like to thank this amazing country for the opportunity. This is the place where hard work is recognized, and it was always a dream for me to belong to this nation. We will never forget where we came from, but I will also never forget how this country treated me since day one that I landed here. I hope to keep adding value to this amazing country… Thanks United States Of America for all you have done to me! Its much easier to work hard and do our best, when the place we live recognize hard work!”
The pair are the latest high-profile Brazilian jiu-jitsu figures to have recently earned their U.S. citizenship. Hannette Staack, Augusto “Tanquinho” Mendes, Gui Mendes, Leo and Gle Vieira, and Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida have also become United States citizens within the past few months.
