An MMA bout that was called a “freakshow” fight by some critics has led to a positive outcome for Darina Mazdyuk, who has been signed by Bellator. Barstool Sports was the first to report the news.
Mazdyuk, who fought at 139 lbs, made headlines a few weeks ago when she got a TKO win over 529 lb blogger Grigory Chistyakov in a bizarre and controversial intergender match in Russia. The fight didn’t last long, with Chistyakov initially pushing Mazdyuk back against the cage before she knocked him down and got the TKO win.
While Chistyakov is not an experienced MMA fighter, Mazdyuk does have a fighting background, currently sitting on a 4-1 record. Prior to the aforementioned fight, her last time in the cage was in March of this year; she’s currently on a three-fight winning streak. She will be joining the flyweight division when she makes the move to Bellator.
