Bellator have continued their recent signing strategy by trying to approach the biggest name in UK submission grappling.
Ross Nicholls, a black belt under Roger Gracie, recently announced on the Bjj Strength podcast that Bellator reached out to him following his exciting victory over Gianni Grippo at Grapple Fest 3. Nicholls had a fantastic 2018, which included a number of big wins, most notably against Nathan Orchard on Polaris 7 and his dominant performances en route to winning the ADCC European trials.
While the allure of the bright light of Bellator has been enough to get both AJ Agazarm and Dillon Danis to sign on the dotted line, Nicholls told BJJ Strength’s Laurence Griffiths that MMA doesn’t appeal to him at this moment of time.
Nicholls will be looking to bounce back from an injury stricken end to 2018 as he begins preparations for a stacked 2019, which will culminate with him making the trip out to California for the ADCC finals.
