Bellator Fighter Cris Lencioni Out Of Intensive Care, Wife Asks For Public Help

Cris “Sunshine” Lencioni, Bellator MMA featherweight fighter, had suffered cardiac arrest during training several days ago.
The 28-year-old is now out of intensive care, though it’s still unclear how his recovery will progress.

Lencioni’s wife, Marca, spoke with MMA Fighting and told them that Cris also suffered brain damage.
As a result, he is in a “state of disordered consciousness” although awake and responsive:

The neurologists were basically like: “We have to wait to see what he can do and what he shows us.”

Because he was so, so healthy when this happened and is young and an athlete, they’re not really sure what’s gonna happen.
The brain is complex, and because of where he’s at, they don’t know and they can’t say.

Even the neurologist, she’s like: “I can’t give you a definite answer, because it’s gonna be up to him.”

Cris’ fighting spirit will make sure to push through the obstacles, Marca is convinced:

If anybody can come out of something like this, it’s him.
He’s a fighter in all senses. It’s not just in the ring.

Cris Lencioni isn’t just known as a great MMA fighter, but also as a cheerful person and someone who loves to help others.
For example, as shared by Chael Sonnen, Lencioni lets kids train BJJ in his gym for free:

He loves working with children and has often made sure kids were able to participate in tournaments and train BJJ in his gym, regardless of their ability to pay.

He has always talked about the importance of mentoring kids and being there to support kids who are struggling with hard things. His gym and kids’ program is his passion project.

The Lencioni family created a GoFundMe to help with Cris’ medical costs.
Take a look and support if you can.
