Brown belt Declan Moody won not one, but four gold medals at this year’s IBJJF Pan Pacific Championship.
Moody, who trains out of Adelaide, Australia, submitted ten out of his eleven opponents to win gold in his weight class and the open weight division in both gi and no-gi. In August, he achieved the same feat at Australian Nationals.
The brown belt had this to say about his achievement: “[I’m] always training hard with my teams: Adelaide Jiu-Jitsu Academy and Bonsai Jiu-Jitsu in Japan and just grateful to all my professors from both teams!”
Moody is widely considered to be an up-and-coming phenom in his native Australia, where he’s been training for between seven and eight years. Given his success at Pan Pacs, there’s no telling what he’ll be able to achieve when he competes at Euros in January.
