“My dream is to become a world champion. Being a world champion for my country, which never had a world champion at that level. It’s going to be humongous. It’s going to be huge for my career and for my legacy.”
“It’s kind of sad, because a lot of people don’t know where Myanmar is. My nickname actually came from a promoter in the mid-west, he asked from where I was from and I said, ‘I’m from Myanmar’ he was like ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about. Where is that country?’ I said, ‘Oh, you know, like where the Burmese pythons are from’ Then he gave me that nickname, Burmese Python, and it stuck.”
After winning the fight in the cage Aung had this to say; “I cannot do this without God, I cannot do this without my teammates, I cannot do this without you, Myanmar,” Sang said in his post-fight interview. “I’m not talented, I’m not good, I’m not fast. With you I have courage and strength to win a world title. Myanmar, how does that sound? You have a world champion. Thank you all for your love and support. I will never quit, I will keep fighting and I will take on any challenger.”
Nsang has been fighting professionally since 2005. He has fought for KOTC and Ring of Combat, as well as other, smaller promotions. He trains and is a coach at Crazy 88 Mixed Martial Arts in Elkridge, Maryland.
