Ares Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association Expands Global Reach, Prepares for Fight to Win 38

Ares Brazilian Jiu Jitsu association continues to establish itself as a force in the martial arts community. Founded by friends Samir Chantre, Osvaldo “Queixinho” Moizinho, and Milton Bastos, Ares has four athletes competing in the upcoming Fight to Win Pro event this June 30 in Sacramento.

The Ares BJJ signature training technique is becoming the gold standard among martial arts academies and its training centers are churning out more and more standout athletes. Also training with Queixinho and Team Ares is F2W 38 main event fighter and famed grappler, Dustin Akbari.

Paul Nava, owner of the largest BJJ academy in Phoenix as well as one of the first affiliates of Ares BJJ will be competing, as will Jonathan Van Buren. Van Buren, a black belt under Paul Nava who also teaches at Ares/Nava BJJ and is a regularly visiting instructor at Arena Training Center in Livermore, California, is a rising star among the jiu-jitsu community. He has had recent success at the IBJJF Atlanta Open, where he earned first in his division and also won the submission of the night at Fight To Win 25 with an impressive baratoplata, snagging himself a 6-month Muscle Pharm sponsorship.

Manny Moreno, an instructor at Ares BJJ in Rocklin, California, will also be competing at the upcoming event.  Moreno’s momentum as a competitor has been spurred by his many students at Rocklin, where he teaches and trains.

The young prodigy, Cyrus “Little Hulk” Foster will also be fighting out of the Ares affiliate in Stockton, California, Buffalo Black Brotherhood.

Ares BJJ is preparing to garner additional affiliates worldwide, and as of June 2017 has representation in Brazil, Iran, Chile, Peru, and several locations in the United States. Arena Training Center, an affiliate headquartered in Livermore, California—the largest in California— holds regular team trainings for Team Ares as well as open mat sessions for students of jiu-jitsu from all over the Bay Area.

“Ares was a natural fit for what we do here at Arena. Jiu-jitsu is for everyone. Ares keeps it all about family and spreading knowledge. Our mission is to provide top level instruction and it doesn’t get any better when it comes to jiu-jitsu. Each of the disciplines we teach – boxing, Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai, Capoeira – are all taught by instructors with the absolute top credentials and experience. Having our BJJ program lead by Quexinho has helped us create an environment here where not only our competitive athletes thrive, but all of our members get the kind of attention they can’t get anywhere else”, says Fabiano Brasil, General Manager.

As a former coach at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado, Brasil knows a thing or two about elite training. We can all look forward to a new level of competition from Ares as they continue to spread their knowledge and passion throughout the global jiu jitsu community.
