Anderson may get own weekly show on Brazilian TV

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is all the rage in and outside the Octagon, and is a fixture on the small screen in Brazil. Television programs like “Fantastico,” Domingão de Faustão,” Legendários,” Altas Horas,” Esporte Espectacular,” and others have all been graced with the “Spider’s” presence.

Now, according to information unearthed by our collaborator Junior Samurai, Anderson Silva is about to sign a contract with a TV network (probably Rede TV!) to have his own weekly show.

To start, the program will be of temporary nature, running until the August 27 UFC Rio event. The idea was negotiated as a part of a marketing strategy by 9ine, the publicity firm of Brazilian soccer superstar Ronaldo, which manages the fighter’s image. The idea is to promote the champion and the UFC on Brazilian network television.
