Dimitrius Souza will defend the Alliance flag at the Copa Pódio Middleweight Grand Prix coming up July 21 in Rio de Janeiro. The athlete from São Paulo was called up by the team’s general, Fabio Gurgel, after Tarsis Humphreys accepted the promoter’s invitation to be the challenger in te Heavyweight GP supermatch on June 30, leaving an opening for the academy in the Middleweight GP.
The final berth in the tournament, as previously reported here, will be determined in a match between Diogo Almeida of Ryan Gracie academy and Victor Bonfim of Evolve Gordo team. The two will face off on June 30, minutes before the draw to divide the lineup into competition groups for the opening stage of the competition.
