The Kazakhstan-based grappling promotion AIGA has announced that a $1 million prize will be up for grabs in its next Champions League season.
The Almaty International Grappling Association has announced that a groundbreaking $1 million in prize money will be on the line for its 2024 Champions League season.
The Kazakhstan-based promotion is currently in the middle of its second Champions League season, which consists of a team-based tournament featuring seven-man squads of grapplers from around the world. The teams compete against each other in head-to-head matches that follow a modified ADCC ruleset.
The AIGA Champions League finals are slated to go down in Almaty, Kazakhstan, this December 13-14 and will see four teams, including the star-studded Team Modolfo, go head-to-head.
Headed by ADCC head organizer Mo Jassim and featuring top competitors like ADCC champion Giancarlo Bodoni, teenage prodigy Cole Abate, and ADCC silver medalist Gabriel Sousa, the star-studded Team Modolfo suffered an upset defeat against the Dagestan-based Universal Fighters at the most recent AIGA event.
