Former heavyweight, Tim Hague, tragically passed away at the age of 34 earlier today, after suffering from a knockout in a boxing match in Alberta, Canada.
The 34 Canadian native suffered a harsh second-round knockout by Adam Braidwood in a boxing event promoted by KO Boxing Canada on Friday, June 16. After being nonresponsive, Hague was taken to a local Edmonton hospital. Over the weekend, his conditioned remained critical until his passing.
Hague’s family issued a statement on his sister’s Facebook page, notifying friends, family members, and fans of the tragic event.
“It is with incredible sadness, sorrow and heartbreak to report that Tim has passed away today,” the statement read. “He was surrounded by family, listening to his favorite songs. We will miss him with [us] so greatly. We ask for privacy during this difficult time.”
In his career, Hague went on a 21-13, which involved 15 knockouts and four victories via submissions. He made his debut in 2009.
We send our condolences to Hague’s family during this time.
