After BJJ World Champion Erberth Santos’ Arrest, His Instagram Account Issues Statement

Last Thursday (24th), in Boituva, located in the interior of São Paulo, Jiu-Jitsu world champion Erberth Santos was apprehended alongside fellow fighter André Pessoa, on allegations of committing a series of rapes and robberies in several cities within Mato Grosso do Sul.
Erberth Santos, the Jiu-Jitsu world champion, has been arrested following a series of rapes and robberies. A video captures the moment when Erberth Santos breaks into a house while allegedly armed and proceeds to forcibly open a safe.
Investigations reveal that the athletes have raped at least four women, but law enforcement officials involved in the case suggest that the number of victims could be higher.
In addition to apprehending the perpetrators of these crimes, authorities also seized 26 cell phones, knives, and firearms. Reports indicate that these acts of violence were characterized by the victims being restrained, physically assaulted, and subjected to threats.
Amidst the news of the arrest and the ensuing media coverage surrounding the case, followers of Erberth Santos’ career and daily life were taken aback by a post on the fighter’s social media accounts. On Friday (25th), a photo of Erberth with the caption “Do not believe” appeared on his official Instagram account’s “stories” feature. This post is likely in reference to the fact that the Jiu-Jitsu black belt has been arrested and the subsequent news circulating about the incident.
Currently, there is no additional information regarding whether the publication of the photo on Erberth Santos’ official account was made by the fighter himself or by someone with access to his social media profile.

It is important to note that, as reported on the “g1” website on Friday, the Court of Justice has ordered the pretrial detention of Erberth Santos and fellow fighter André Pessoa due to the series of crimes committed in cities within Mato Grosso do Sul.

More information has emerged about the case. According to the investigation, the athletes raped at least four women.
Also, the “Campo Grande News” portal released a video showing one of Erberth Santos’ crimes in Três Lagoas.

The video shows Santos being accompanied by another man, with one of them having set up a date on an escort site with a call girl.
The 24-year-old was raped and robbed in the house where she lives.

In what seems to be a separate case, Santos and Pessoa went to a different house and hired the services of call girls in Campo Grande.
Then, when they arrived to the residence, one of them went to the bedroom with one of the girls, while the other stayed downstairs. One of them got aggressive and attacked a girl, after which both of them had their hands tied.

The girls were raped and robbed of approximately R$ 700 and cell phones.
