ADCC Asia and Oceania Trials results and video highlights

View results and video highlights from the 2023 ADCC Asia and Oceania Trials, which took place over the weekend in Singapore. The first ADCC Asia and Oceania Trials took place in Singapore over the weekend, and five more athletes punched their tickets to the 2024 ADCC World Championships. Among those five are three returning ADCC veterans: Kenta Iwamoto , Izaak Michell , and Josh Saunders . Michell enjoyed perhaps the most dominant performance of the day, submitting four of his five opponents and defeating former ADCC Trials winner Roberto Dib Frias to claim gold in the 88kg division. An excellent takedown artist with elite back-taking and leg-locking skills, Michell has the talent to make a deep run in his second ADCC World Championships appearance. In other notable action, Australian MMA fighter Ethan Thomas burst onto the scene, winning the 66kg division on the strength of three submissions over the course of six matches to earn a spot at his first ADCC World Championships. However, that performance does not guarantee her a spot at the 2024 ADCC World Championships, as women only qualify by winning the second regional Trials events.
