Ricardo Almeida black belt Chris Matakas was on the Way of the Truth Warrior podcast with David Whitehead to talk about the philosophy of Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Matakas is the author of “The Tao of Jiu Jitsu,” “My Mastery: Learning to Live Through Jiu Jitsu”, and other books about life and martial arts.
Whitehead and Matakas also discussed controversial Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson, a man who has made waves in the media for his opposition to what he terms “cultural Marxism.”
When I asked David why he wanted to talk about Peterson with Matakas, he responded:
Jordan is a fellow Canadian so both Chris and I had some cool thoughts to share on his take on legitimate suffering (Carl Jung) and how it relates to JJ training.
