They say that lightning never strikes the same place twice, but apparently, the same woman is very capable of striking the same fire hydrant and flooding the same jiu-jitsu gym twice in just a few months’ time.
Five months ago, before Gracie Barra Tarzana (owned by newly crowned Polaris welterweight champion Edwin Najmi) had even opened, a woman caused chaos by crashing her car into a fire hydrant outside the gym, which flooded the academy and caused a delay in its opening. Horribly unfortunate, but hey, just a freak accident that wouldn’t possibly happen again, right?
Well…
“so on saturday, the same driver that flooded our gym 5 months ago. caused the SAME accident and crashed into the SAME fire hydrant and flooded the front part of our gym. it’s really ****** up and idk how it’s possible for the same lady to cause the same accident. it’s literally unbelievable. idk what I did to the world to deserve this. but trying to stay positive and figure out the situation as we speak. @gbtarzana will be closed for a week while we figure it out and all our students are welcome to train at @gbnorthridge / @gbthousandoaks free of charge. thank you everyone for all the love and understanding the situation ”
Needless to say, the whole thing is a big, frustrating mess made even more frustrating by the fact that the exact same thing happened just a few months ago.
Thankfully, though, it doesn’t look like this mishap will be holding back GB Tarzana for too long — Najmi told the Jiu-Jitsu Times that the gym should be back up and running in about a week.
