The minds and athletes behind Texas-based 3rd Coast Grappling and UK-based Figure 4 Promotions are joining forces for an event that will go down in the UK this May.
While the development is still in its infancy, we do know that the main event will be a bout between Gordon Ryan and 10th Planet standout Kyle Boehm. Ryan was just recently signed to a five-match, $100k deal with the promotion following his submission win over accomplished wrestler Bo Nickal back in December.
Boehm has been steadily making his way up the grappling ladder, making waves by defeating Lucas Barbosa at the BJJ Fanatics Invitational to win the $10,000 grand prize. He recently put on a stellar performance at Kasai Pro 7, but was stopped short by Nick Rodriguez and ultimately earned 4th place.
3CG promotor Ryan McGuire said in a post announcing the event that he has hope that the event will help expand the UK grappling scene while giving some of 3CG’s athletes a taste of international competition.
The UK vs. USA event will take place on May 23 in Liverpool, England.
