When a Sumo fighter takes on a Mixed Martial Arts fighter it is 273 Kg. vs. 76 Kg., and the odds would certainly appear to be stacked in favor of the behemoth. However, in a match between 273 Kg. Emmanuel Yarbrough and 76 Kg. Daiju Takase, the massive size of Yarbrough did not prove to be an advantage. Most of the fight was spent with the much smaller man just trying to stay out of reach of the giant.
Surely, if the great man had been able to leverage his immense weight against his opponent, it would have been over. However, this match shows that being small and fast definitely has the advantage over large and slow.
