2015 IBJJF Worlds No Gi Results

Another IBJJF No-Gi World Jiu Jitsu Tournament came to an end on November 8, and it was one to remember.

This championship was characterized by the huge number of talented young newcomers who participated in it. While the names of some of these up and coming martial artists were familiar to fans of the sport, the amount of finalists aged twenty-five or under was still amazing. Attendees watched matches featuring Mahamed Aly, Thiago Sá, Jonathan Satava, Lucas “Hulk” Barbosa, Matheus Diniz, Mansher Khera, Jackson Sousa, Felipe Pena, Miyao Bros and Gabriel Lucas.

In the women’s matches, the awesome Tammi Musumeci put on a stellar performance, claiming victory over Mackenzie Dern (six/two in the final) to win the featherweight title. This was no mean feat, because Dern is highly rated. In fact, Dern subsequently proved her mettle in the absolute final, by defeating Andressa Correa.
