Royce Gracie first fought Ken Shamrock in UFC 1 on November 12, 1992 at the Mc Nichols Arena in Denver. Royce submitted Shamrock via choke in that match. The subsequently met in a Superfight in UFC 5 and despite 30 minutes of regulation and a 6 minute overtime the fight ended in a draw.
