From 1997 to 2006, Marcio Feitosa, who turns 38 today, was on the lightweight podium eight times.

In historical battles, he won three gold medlas and five silver medals.

His main opponents were Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro, Leozinho Vieira, Leo Santos and Daniel Moraes.

The titles came in 1997, 2001 and 2002, he was the runner up in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003 and 2006.

Here’s the video of his final against Leozinho, in 1997, at the 2nd Worlds.

Here’s another video of a winning year, in 2002, against Crezio de Souza.

His last appearance was in 2006, against then upcomer Rubens Charles “Cobrinha”, a match that he lost, but earned a standing ovation from the crowd when he defended a armlock that seemed to be a dead end.

Don’t forget to register today for the 2014 Worlds.

The final deadline is May 19.
