The featherweight semifinals got the crowd on their feet once again at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach. First, Mario Reis played solidly versus Rafa Mendes, tried to sweep until the very end but couldn’t. Rafa won by 2-0 and will be trying for his fourth title later tonight.
On the other mat, Augusto Tanquinho was more efficient than Rubens Cobrinha, as he swept the Alliance star and held tight at the end to secure his spot in the final. Tanquinho, it’s worth noting, has told GRACIEMAG he’ll be fighting MMA after the 2013 Worlds. Will this be his dream farewell?
