Another arrest has been made in the case of 29-year-old Cassia Renee DuVal, who was seven months pregnant at the time of her death in North Carolina. DuVal was found dead in a vehicle in Wayne County at the end of January, and police began investigating her death as a homicide. She was a blue belt at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Goldsboro.
Wednesday, a second arrest was made in the case, according to ABC 11. 25-year-old Ajelet Ticante Landero has been charged with first-degree murder, murder of an unborn child, and felony conspiracy to commit murder. She is currently being held in jail without bond.
A source confirmed to know Ticante told the Jiu-Jitsu Times that Ticante was involved in the BJJ community in a limited capacity and used to work with DuVal at Waffle House.
The first suspect arrested in the case, 33-year-old James Isaac Jones, also received an additional charge of felony conspiracy to commit murder on March 4.
The Jiu-Jitsu Times will provide updates to this case as they become available.
