On January 7, 2011, Ronda Rousey’s last amateur bout began against Taylor Stratford. This bout occurred at a Tuff-N-Uff event in Las Vegas and upped Rousey’s amateur MMA record to 3-0. She wasn’t world famous at this point, but things ended in typical “Rowdy” fashion. Within 24 seconds, Rousey had locked Stratford in an armbar and forced a submission.
Nobody would be surprised by that result today. Then again, nobody in attendance seemed surprised back then. Rousey would go on to work with various MMA promotions before hitting the UFC. Virtually all UFC fans know what happened from there.
