As part of a promotional spot for Red Bull, multiple-time NBA All-Star forward Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers took part in a MMA training session with UFC #1 lightweight contender Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. Griffin, who is 6’10 and 250 lbs, is a freak athlete who once dunked over a KIA automobile to win the 2011 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
The two athletes met up at Triton MMA in Redondo Beach, California to go over MMA warm up and conditioning drills, basic striking and Muay Thai Techniques, pummeling and hand fighting fundamentals that Griffin can apply to his battles in the paint during NBA games. Cerrone was impressed with Griffin’s strength, power, and explosiveness during their training session.
