Travis Steven’s YouTube channel recently posted an interview of Renzo Gracie Black Belt John Danaher discussing the relationship between BJJ and Judo. Danaher discusses the need for grapplers to be well-rounded and able to be equally proficient on their feet and on the ground in both the gi and nogi. His vision is to have grapplers who can be strong competitors in all form of grappling competitions and MMA. His students Travis Stevens, who is a member of the US Olympic Judo team and holds a black belt in BJJ is his prototype for the grappler of the future. Stevens can seamlessly compete in BJJ, Judo, and train MMA all within the same month. Watch the full interview below.
