To say that it is a rare occurrence for a fighter to win an MMA fight by way of a double armbar is an understatement. Most of us have not seen such an occurrence any time recently. Still, that is just what happened in one of Jacob Sayler’s recent matchup, when he faced off against John McLaughlin at FCF — Extreme Fight Night 5. What makes it even more impressive is the fact that this was Sayler’s amateur debut, and that it happened so quickly. It was only 33 seconds into the first round of the matchup before Sayler pinned McLaughlin into the double armbar and secured the victory. Sayler went on to win all three of his matches all by way of submission and all into the first round. McLaughlin was his only victory by double armbar however.
