In a UFC 196 post-fight interview with Megan Olivi, Dana White revealed he texted the former UFC bantamweight champion after her long-time rival Miesha Tate defeated Holly Holm for the title. Rousey, was not watching the fight and asked White what happened. Upon learning that her hated adversary, who she owns two victories over, won Rousey texted back
“Look like its back to work for me.”
Rousey, who is on hiatus until at least November 2016, will likely be pitched for a trilogy fight with Tate at UFC 200 in July. The former champion is still recovering from a devastating knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 and needs time to overhaul her striking game in order to improve her chances against Holm in a rematch. However, her current skill set of clinching, judo, and grappling were enough to defeat Tate twice, which might entice Rousey to end her hiatus earlier than planned.
